I think that creativity is something we are all born with and it is innate to all human beings. I also think it is the closest thing a human has to be "God-like": the ability to bring the unseen into the physical realm by imagining it and creating it into matter. Whether this be on the pitch through set-piece moves or open play, in the studio creating melodies, or ideas for paintings and clothing designs, living moment-to-moment turning dreams into reality and imagination to matter is a privilege.
Born and raised in Nigeria then moving to the UK aged 12, I draw upon a wide variety of influences due to the broad experiences across my life so far. With music genres ranging from hip-hop/R&B to rock and country, fashion ranging from formal to urban, and paintings inspired by eras from Victorian to modern, inspiration is never more than a stone's throw away.
I often find myself being asked why "Bruce West"? And my answer is that the name serves as my North Star. It serves as a compass, a guide and a focal point for me to recenter my ideals and perspectives in life. I believe everyone should have a North Star and what that looks like for everyone is and should be different, but for me, it comes in a three-part name.
